Basil Mediterranean Kitchen serves a modern selection of the popular and loved dishes from Turkish and Mediterranean cuisines as well as the mouthwatering desserts. They serve a conventional fare, like a sparkling array of dips with puffy bread, and the usual chops and kebabs. The service is so pleasant, you will want to linger over desserts such as baklava, rice pudding or kadayif shredded wheat with pistachios and some strong Turkish coffee.

March Luncheon

Maggiano’s was successful from the very beginning. The portions of Italian–American cuisine were large, reminiscent of a Sunday night visit to their grandmother’s house, or as they say in Italy, Nonna’s casa. The recipes were simple, authentic classics, many of them coaxed out of Italian grandmothers, mothers, and aunts whose ideas of a recipe were a pinch of this and a sprinkle of that. With some trial and error, the chefs celebrated the birth of many of Maggiano’s signature dishes.
