The holidays are upon us already! The year has certainly flown by! San Antonio is a City of Lights this time of year. Here are just a few examples:
Windcrest Light Up …the last several years my family has made it a point to visit the Windcrest area as they go all out with elaborate Christmas decorations and lights. One family went so far as to bring in a snow making machine to complete their scene and I’m sure they won the competition that year. Windcrest continues the lighting up tradition today.
Lights at Incarnate Word University – vehicle self-guided tour of the campus with nearly a million lights.
Christmas City at Gateway Church – a live, outdoor presentation of the story of Christ’s birth. It has over 100 costumed actors, 30-foot-tall buildings and plenty of animals.
And of course, the lights along the Riverwalk including the big Holiday River Parade the night after Thanksgiving. The 2018 theme is “ Christmas in San Antonio”. Consider getting a room with a balcony and river view at one of the Riverwalk hotels for the night. It’s great particularly if the weather is a bit chilly plus you have your own front row seat right there. Just be sure you’re where you need to be before they close the Riverwalk entries for those without parade tickets.
Also check out Holiday Boat Caroling, dinner cruises and Fiesta de las Luminarias at the Riverwalk.
Feel free to add other events you hear about on our Facebook page.
Whatever your plans, enjoy this Blessed time with your family and friends!
Merry Christmas to all!
