May, what a beautiful month! Our gardens are in full bloom just in time for Mother’s Day! Let me take this moment to wish all of our Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Friends, all whom we think of as our Mothers a joyous day! They have played an important part of our lives and have helped us become the loving, thoughtful caring Ladies that we are today! Happy Mother’s Day!
For us who are members of Newcomers of San Antonio it is time to introduce our Slate of Officers for our next year! Please look for the list in the following pages. We will introduce them in person and vote for them at our May luncheon at The Veranda. We certainly hope that you will join us at this beautiful venue on May 2, 2019 at 11:00. The menu and directions will be on the next page.
Also May is time for the festivities and beautiful hats worn at the Kentucky Derby. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will see many beautiful horses and the Men and Women in attendance. Always a glorious day!
Fiesta is in full swing as you are reading this newsletter. The colorful parades are happening around town, walks through the King William district and The Riverwalk are in full bloom and everyone is dressed in the beautiful colors that are Fiesta! Enjoy!!
Reminder: Annual Membership Renewal begins May 1 and runs through June 30
Please visit our renewal page.
After we finish Fiesta with a bang Cinco De Mayo on the fifth calls for a Margarita! Usually there are many Mariachis in their unique style strolling the Riverwalk and at many of our fine Mexican Restaurants around San Antonio! Standing ready to perform their wonderful music and songs for the crowds.
San Antonio is known as “Military City” and please remember to Honor our Military Men and Women who have served in our Armed Forces on Memorial Day. One of the larger ceremonies is held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
I wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day!
