Newcomers of San Antonio was established 39 years ago to welcome new residents to our lovely city. Our members have come to San Antonio from different backgrounds and cities throughout the United States and other countries, and we have one thing in common; we are all starting over in a new place. At present, we have over 200 members.
I felt so welcomed at my first luncheon in January 2016 and knew I had found a home when I joined the board the following April. Since that time, I have made numerous friends and some close relationships that will be lifelong. Since we all have recently moved to the area, everyone is in the same boat…a new city and a new set of people to get to know. So everyone is very open and welcoming. And many already have established relationships with doctors, dentists, etc. and serve as a major resource.
After you join, I look forward to getting to know you through our coffees, luncheons and interest groups. I encourage you to get involved in one of our many interest groups as they are smaller than the luncheons and coffees. Most of all, I want you to have fun and join this club as a support system in your new home city of San Antonio.
I look forward to this year as the President and my wish is that you all continue to “bloom where you are planted”
