Greetings! The holidays are already upon us! The year has certainly flown by! San Antonio becomes the City of Lights this time of year.
Remember, we are collecting Christmas Stockings for Soldiers Angels and needed toiletries and clothes for the homeless through Mobile Loaves and Fishes. Please bring the items to the Luncheon.
I’m excited to share a couple of examples of the ways we are celebrating Christmas! The Riverwalk is a perfect place to get in the Christmas spirit. Whether you are a local, or entertaining out of town guests, be sure to check out the 39th Annual Ford Holiday River Parade on November 29, at 6 p.m. This annual parade kicks off the lighting of the Riverwalk. This year’s theme is Texas Christmas Music. The parade will include 25 floats, each featuring a popular Texas musician playing their own Christmas Music.
You can also check out the over 100,000 twinkling Christmas lights that liven up the Riverwalk by chartering a boat during the Ford Holiday Boat Caroling that begins on December 5 and goes through December 22. One of these boats fills up with 16 to 20 people, so take your friends! Please note that a whole party is required to reserve a boat. Our On the Road Again Group is planning a ride. Learn more in Interest Groups!
While the holidays are a very special time of year, it can be hard to keep track of everything going on, especially when most of us also need to find time to put up holiday decorations and choose holiday recipes for family gatherings.
Feel free to add other events you hear about on our Facebook page.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our Christmas Luncheon at J Prime and our Christmas coffee at Candy’s and enjoy “All that Glitters”!
